A Consumer may request a Full Credit Bureau to:

  • Correct inaccurate, incomplete, misleading, or out of date consumer credit information about the consumer, or
  • Remove from display a record of consumer Credit information about the consumer that the credit bureau is not authorized to display,
  • Correct the consumer credit information or provide the consumer with credible evidence in support of the correctness of the information,
  • Remove the record of consumer credit information from display: During a period that a request received in terms of this policy, is being investigated, the Full Credit Bureau,
  • May not report information pertaining to the request,
  • May indicate or flag the report that a request has been received.
  • A RCB is not required to comply with the obligation of a Full Credit Bureau as set out above

However, a RCB is required to provide its credit report on sold to consumers and other parties, a clear notification with the details of the Full Credit Bureau, where the consumer can dispute his/her credit report and / or direct the consumer to the Full Credit Bureau where the consumer can dispute his / her credit report.
